The Methodist
Way was begun in 2019 after the Rev Peter Timms had struggled for
some five years to try to obtain justice from the Executive of the
church in a complaint against three ministers in his district.
He was lied
to, and sent a false confession to sign – he was threatened with
disciplinary action if he did not sign it.
He was later
suspended – simply because he protested loudly about the treatment
he received from Methodist Church House – and because various
friends of his in the Bexhill area published material on the
internet about the terrible treatment he received.
This kind of
treatment of ministers, using threats and punishments, is not the
Methodist Way . The executives of the Church need to be reminded
of the principles of the complaints system – justice openness and
honesty. This site attempts to draw the Methodist Church back to its
guiding principles.
